PDF Reader for Android
Last updated: 12 October 2026
This policy explains how the PDF Reader app (package
com.pdf.reader.documents.allreader, the “app”), provided by EZZY APPS
(“we”, “us”), handles your information. The app is a PDF reader and viewer with built-in
PDF tools. It is free and supported by ads.
In short: your PDFs are opened and processed on your device and are not uploaded to us. The app has no account or sign-in and does not ask for access to all your files or photos. It is free and shows ads; the ads and the Google services inside the app collect some data (such as an advertising identifier and app usage), described below, and, where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent first.
1. Your PDFs and files stay on your device
Everything you do with your documents happens on your device:
- Reading. PDFs you open — with the in-app file picker, from the app’s list, or from another app using “Open with” or “Share” — are read and drawn on your device. They are not sent to us.
- Your list (Recent and Favorites), reading positions and page thumbnails. These are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage. They are excluded from cloud backup and device-to-device transfer, are never sent anywhere, and are removed when you remove an item or uninstall the app.
- PDF tools (Scan to PDF, Images to PDF, Merge, Split, Lock, Unlock, Print) run on your device. New files are saved only where you choose. Passwords you type to lock or unlock a PDF are used for that one action only and are never stored, logged or sent.
- Scan to PDF uses the document scanner provided by Google Play services (Google’s ML Kit). The scan runs on your device; the app receives only the finished PDF and uploads nothing. The scanner’s own data handling is covered by Google (see section 4).
The app lists only the PDFs you open with it. It does not scan your device for files and does not request a storage, photo, camera or location permission.
2. Information collected by the services in the app
The app itself does not ask you for personal information and has no account system. However, like most free apps, it includes Google software development kits (SDKs) for ads, consent, analytics, crash reporting, remote configuration, and document scanning. These SDKs automatically collect limited data to function. The data types they may collect or share are:
| Data type | Examples | Collected | Shared with a third party |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approximate location | Derived from your IP address (not GPS) | Yes | Yes |
| App activity | In-app interactions, screens viewed, ad views and taps, app launches | Yes | Yes |
| App info and performance | Crash logs and diagnostics (stability and performance) | Yes | Diagnostics: yes · Crash logs: no |
| Device or other identifiers | Advertising ID, app-set ID, app-instance ID, and per-installation IDs | Yes | Yes |
“Shared” means transferred to a third party. Here, sharing happens through the Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) SDK, where Google acts as an advertising network. Firebase and ML Kit process data as our service providers and do not share it as a third party. All data these services collect is encrypted in transit (TLS).
The specific services and what they collect:
- Google AdMob and the User Messaging Platform (UMP) (ads and consent): IP address (approximate location), advertising ID, app-set ID (and, where applicable, identifiers of accounts signed in on the device), in-app and ad interactions, and diagnostics. On every launch the consent SDK sends a request to Google for your region, and your consent choice is stored on your device and sent with ad requests.
- Firebase Analytics: app-instance ID, advertising ID, IP-derived approximate location, and automatic events such as app opens, sessions and screen views.
- Firebase Crashlytics (release versions): crash and error reports, device information and an installation identifier, so we can diagnose and fix problems. These reports do not include your file names or document contents.
- Firebase Remote Config and Installations: a Firebase installation ID, country, language, time zone, OS and app version. We use this only to configure the app’s ad behaviour.
- Google Play services ML Kit document scanner (used only when you choose Scan to PDF): device and app information, per-installation identifiers, and performance and error data, handled by Google.
3. What we do not collect
- No name, email address, phone number, postal address or user account.
- No precise (GPS) location, contacts, calendar, messages, call logs, or health or financial data.
- Your documents, their contents, and your file names are not uploaded to us and are not sent to analytics or crash reporting.
- Your photos are not uploaded. Images you turn into a PDF, and pages you scan, are processed on your device.
4. Permissions
The app uses the Internet and network-state permissions (to show ads, request consent, download ad content, and report crashes and configuration) and the advertising-ID permission (for ads). It does not use a storage, photo/media, camera, microphone, location or contacts permission. You choose each file yourself through the system file or photo picker, and the document scanner uses Google Play services’ own camera access rather than the app’s.
5. Ads and your choices
The app is free and shows ads provided by Google AdMob, for example a full-screen ad when the app starts and a banner while you read. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the UK, and certain US states), the app asks for your consent before showing personalised ads, using Google’s User Messaging Platform. You can change your choice at any time from Privacy options in the app’s menu. You can also limit or reset ad personalisation on your device:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads, where you can reset or delete your advertising ID and opt out of ad personalisation.
- Google ad settings: https://adssettings.google.com.
6. How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. Information is shared only with Google, which provides the advertising, consent, analytics, crash-reporting, remote-configuration and document-scanning services in the app, as described in section 2. Google processes this data under its own terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or the integrity and security of the app.
7. Data retention
The data stored on your device (your Recent and Favorites list, reading positions and thumbnails) stays until you remove the item, clear the app’s storage, or uninstall the app. Data collected by the Google services is retained according to Google’s policies for those services.
8. Security
Your documents are processed on your device and are not uploaded by us. Data that the services in the app send is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but we and the service providers take reasonable measures to protect your information.
9. Children
The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. It is intended for users aged 13 and over, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has provided such information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because the app has no account and we cannot look up an individual’s advertising or analytics identifiers, the most effective controls are the ad and advertising-ID settings in section 5, uninstalling the app (which removes on-device data), and the privacy controls in your Google Account. You can also contact us using the details below, and you may contact Google directly regarding data it processes.
